Nevenka Fernández is 23 years old – young, beautiful and full of dreams – when she starts working at the City Council of Ponferrada, a small Spanish city. After the mayor, accustomed to exercising his power, however inappropriately, becomes infatuated with her, Nevenka stands up to face an entire city, and the media scrutiny and public opinion of Spain. Branded as a calculating exploiter as her private life and behaviour are thrown under a microscope, Nevenka endures, resilient and strong.
