Earwig

Earwig

Hallucinatory, haunting, and beautiful, and playing like an unforgettable fever dream, Earwig is the first English-language film from respected French director Lucile Hadžihalilovic (Innocence, Evolution).

Somewhere in Europe, mid-20th century. In a sombre apartment, Albert is employed to look after Mia, a 10-year-old girl with teeth of ice. Mia never leaves their apartment, where the shutters are always closed. A voice regularly calls to ask about the girl’s well-being. One day, the voice tells the man to prepare the girl to leave the apartment and travel to a new destination. A journey begins.
